Human Rights Campaign
Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is one of the largest lesbian , gay , bisexual, and transgender ( LGBT ) organizations in the United States . The HRC's vision is to create an America in which people, regardless of their sexual orientation and identity, can live openly, freely and safely at home, at work and in society.
Program, tasks and actions of HRC
The organization is active as a lobbying organization in United States politics; B. in the American Congress by supporting those politicians who stand up for the rights of LGBT.
In addition, HRC provides information on coming out and rights in the workplace. In 2005, HRC had an annual budget of US $ 24 million, 40% of which was spent on political lobbying.
history
HRC was founded by Steve Endean in 1980 to raise funds for congressional candidates. Within three months, HRC was registered as an independent political action committee with the Federal Election Commission in the United States.
Wayne Besen was temporarily the spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign.
