Wayne Bryant (Author)

Wayne M. Bryant is an American writer and bi-movement pioneer and activist.

life and work

Bryant came out before 1975 and became politically active in the orbit of Robyn Ochs , the Boston Bisexual Women Network , co-founder of Biversity Boston , an organization now with 700 members, co-founder of the Bi Camp and was president of the Bisexual Resource Center in Boston , which was formerly known as the East Coast Bisexual Network , is home to several groups from all over the area and is considered the national clearinghouse for material related to bisexuality. In addition to his activism within the community, he publishes articles on the topics of bisexuality, film and stereotypes. His anthology Bisexual Characters in Film , published in 1997, is a standard work on the subject.

In 1996 he gave a lecture at the International Bisexual Symposium in Berlin. At the Bi Conference in Houston in 1999, he was one of the keynote speakers alongside Fritz Klein . In 2001, he led a workshop at the first North American Conference on Bisexuality, Gender and Sexual Diversity (NACB 2001) in Vancouver, dealing with the expansion of members in organizations of bisexual organizations. In 2006 he led a workshop on Our Movement History: The BiTransAction together with Lani Ka'ahumanu in the Transcending Boundaries section of the PFLAG Northeast Conference .

He lives in Plainville, Massachusetts .
