Model of the Fieseler Fi 333

interpretation

In the aircraft type sheet of the Reich Ministry of Aviation (RLM), the aircraft was shown in two versions - with and without cargo hold.

In the version with cargo space, an exchangeable transport module was provided under the flattened hull. Various modules should allow the aircraft to be adapted for use as a troop and cargo transporter, parachute jumper, ambulance aircraft and tow aircraft. The tandem chassis should be very high to ensure that the transport module is clear from the ground. In addition to a taxiing and flying position, a special landing position was planned in order to be able to better absorb the loads during the landing impact.

The version without cargo space was intended for use as a recovery aircraft for the fuselage and structure. It should also be used to transport pioneer equipment, assault or motor boats and airworthy fighter planes. The use as a flying tanker had also been considered. This version of the Fi 333 should have a fully glazed nose and a rigid single landing gear.

Two BMW Bramo 323  D radial engines, each with 1,000 hp, were intended to drive both variants .

The project was canceled after the design phase.
