The Fieseler Fi 158 was a civil German test aircraft from the Gerhard Fieseler works .

development

The aircraft was developed in 1938 as a single-seat test aircraft for record purposes. The aircraft was a cantilever low- wing aircraft made of wood with a retractable normal landing gear and a tail spur. The designers attached particular importance to the aerodynamic optimization of the cell. The vertical tail was designed as a double tail. An air-cooled six-cylinder in-line engine Hirth HM 506 with 160 hp served as the drive .
