The Fieseler Fi 253 "Spatz" was a civilian sport aircraft made by Fieseler Flugzeugbau Kassel.

development

The aircraft was developed under the premise of getting an inexpensive and reliable machine with a minimum of maintenance costs. Gerhard Fieseler wanted to get closer to his desire for a people's airplane . The aircraft was a stripped high- wing aircraft in composite construction and rigid normal landing gear. The fuselage consisted of a tubular steel frame and, like the wooden wings, was covered with fabric. A braced normal tail was designed as the tail unit. Two seats were arranged side by side in the closed cabin. An inline four-cylinder Zündapp Z 9-092 engine with 50 hp served as the drive . Due to the impending war, only a few test models were built.
