The Webster County Courthouse in Fort Dodge , the Justice and Administration Building ( Courthouse ) of Webster County in the center of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .
The current building is Webster County's third courthouse. After the founding of the county, Homer , which no longer exists, was chosen as the first administrative center. In 1856 the citizens decided to move to Fort Dodge. The judicial and administrative building was built between 1859 and 1861. However, the building soon no longer met the growing demands caused by the increase in population, so that in 1902 the decision was made to build a new and larger building.
The four-storey building with the clock tower rising above the front facade was built in the Beaux Arts style according to a design by the architect Henry C. Koch . The Northern Building Company was commissioned with the construction . In 1902 the building was handed over to its intended use.
In 1981 the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places with reference number 81000274 .
