Exchange mechanism

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An exchange mechanism is, for example, part of a water mill ; however, it is also part of the mechanical watch. As the name suggests, no matter where it is used, an alternating mechanism is responsible for ensuring the transmission of two wheels that are supposed to run at different speeds.

Mills that are operated by a water wheel and have two grinders can only operate one grinder at a time. A grinder can e.g. B. be operated as a grain mill , another as a pearl mill .
