Wedel-Jarlsberg-Land is a region in the south of the island of Spitzbergen on Svalbard . Its borders run from the tip of Van Keulenfjorden through Zawadzkibreen , west past Kopernikusfjellet and via Nornebreen and Mühlbacherbreen to Burgerbukta on Hornsund . Bellsund lies in the north and the open Greenland Sea in the west . Wedel-Jarlsberg-Land borders on Torell-Land in the east . Wedel-Jarlsberg-Land is largely uninhabited, apart from a few trapper huts. A Polish research station is located in Isbjørnhamna Bay on Hornsund.

North of the Van Keulenfjorden is the Nathorst-Land peninsula . Sørkapp-Land lies south of the Hornsund .

Wedel-Jarlsberg-Land is named after Fredrik Hartvig Herman Wedel Jarlsberg (1855–1942), who played a key role in the fact that in the Svalbard Treaty , which was signed in Paris in 1920 , Norway was guaranteed sovereignty over Svalbard.

The peninsula belongs entirely to the Sør Spitsbergen National Park (1 on the map) and takes up more than half of its area. The Torrell Land to the east is also part of the national park. The southern third is occupied by Sørkapp Land.
