The Wedge Tomb of Lurgankeel ( Irish An Lorgain Chaol ) is located near the portal Tombs of the same name on the west side of the valley of the Kilcurry River, near Kilcurry, about 5.1 km from Dundalk in County Louth in Ireland . The Wedge Tomb ( German  "Keilgrab" ), formerly also called "wedge-shaped gallery grave", is a double-walled, aisle-free, mostly undivided megalithic structure from the late Neolithic and the early Bronze Age in Ireland.

description

Lurgankeel consists of a heavily overgrown elongated hill about 12.0 m long, 7.0 m wide and 1.0 m high, in which the remains of a long gallery lie. Two hawthorns grow on the southern end of the hill. The gallery is about 4.5 m long, with the entrance at the southern end. A large stone marks the southern end of the gallery. On the east side of the gallery five, but only two side stones are visible on the west side. There is a low stone near the northern edge of the hill. It can be an end stone or a curb. A floor slab in the gallery area can be a pushed-off capstone.

Nearby is the Lurgankeel Tomb portal .
