Crossroads in Bruchstrasse

The Bruchstrasse crossroads is located on Bruchstrasse opposite the Müselter Weg confluence in the Eilendorf district of Aachen .

The location of the cross changed several times over the years, so until 1908 it stood at the intersection of Steinstraße, Lindenstraße and Von-Coels-Straße. At that time there was a pool of water for drinking cattle and a public pump by the cross. Due to development measures in the same year, the cross had to give way and found its new location in Bruchstrasse.

In 1978 the cross had to give way for a short time due to construction work. In 1980 it was restored and its current location was slightly offset in the street. Before Von-Coels-Strasse was expanded between 1829 and 1830, this square was the former hamlet of Im Bruch and the route from Aachen to Stolberg . It can be assumed that at that time there was also a cross at this point.

In 2015 the cross fell victim to vandalism and was severely damaged as a result. It took several weeks to repair the damage.
