The Crossroads opposite the Carl-Sonnenschein-Straße 2 Josefshaus is a monument, it is located in a house in the district niche Kenten in the district town of Bergheim .

History and architecture

The wayside cross is said to have been moved from the site of the former infirmary in Honrath near Ichendorf to its current location in 1880. It is made of sandstone and is 2.5 meters high. The cross with Christ crucified stands on a curved base and top. There are two inscription fields in the base. The first one bears the inscription: "Matthias CRI ... and Maria Sibilla Muddeks married couple to Square have this cross they read April 17th Anno 1782". The second inscription reads: “Oh sinner, lift up your eyes, look at my pain, restrain the course of your sins, convert from your heart. Rest. Anno 1972. "
