Weir footbridge
A weir footbridge is a bridge that crosses a weir .
The footbridge is mostly designed for pedestrians and cyclists , but motor vehicles can also be permitted for wider weirs .
Often such a walkway was originally just a workshop walkway for maintenance and repair work on the weir, which was not open to the public.
