The white brow tree slide ( Climacteris affinis ) is an Australian songbird (Passeri) from the tree slide family (Climacteridae).

description

The 15 cm long bird has a gray-brown upper side, a white stripe over the eyes and yellowish wing bands as well as a black and white striped belly.

Habitat and Distribution

It lives in the interior of Australia in acacia and spinifex bushes , especially near cypresses .

Lifestyle and diet

Most of the time he looks for ants on the ground . But it also picks insects from tree trunks and branches. The tail is not used as a support, and the bird is more likely to sit on branches than to climb tree trunks.

Reproduction

The nest is created in a tree hollow which is mostly close to the ground and padded with animal hair and grass. In the breeding season, from August to December, the female lays 1 to 3 eggs.
