Do you actually know how much I love you? (Original title: Guess How Much I Love You ) is an Australian - German animated series . It started broadcasting on August 31, 2012 in the US on Disney Junior . The German-language broadcast began on April 28, 2014 on KiKA . The target group of the series are toddlers up to preschool age .

The series is based on the children's book Do you actually know how much I love you? by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram , which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide since it was first published in 1994.

The main characters of the series are the Little Bunny (originally Little Nutbrown Hare ) and his father, the Big Bunny (originally Big Nutbrown Hare ). The two live in a forest, and every day the little rabbit sets out to experience different adventures and to explore his surroundings. He is accompanied by many friends such as the little field mouse, the little gray squirrel, the little red fox or the otter. At the end of the day, the little rabbit always comes back to his father. After telling him about his experiences, they both ask the eponymous question: "Do you know how much I love you?"

The American organization Common Sense Media rates Do you know how much I love you? with 5 out of 5 possible stars and expressly highlights the positive characters and messages on the subject of love and friendship. Especially for preschool children, the series is an “inspiration to ask their own questions about the world and its function”.

Do you actually know how much I love you? received a nomination in the category "Best Children's Television Series" at the 2nd AACTA Awards .

Since the 1990s, various production companies have tried to acquire the television rights to Do you know how much I love you? to acquire, which, however, did not succeed for many years due to objections from the authors of the children's book. In 2007, the Australian studio SLR Productions finally agreed with Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram on the production of an animated series in which, in addition to SLR Productions, KiKA, Hessischer Rundfunk and the Singaporean Scrawl Studios were also involved.
