Softboard

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A soft fiber board is a soft, usually slightly porous building material board made of different binders (e.g. plastic , natural resin ) bonded wood fibers.

Soft fiber boards usually have a high heat storage capacity , are open to diffusion and therefore have a moisture-regulating effect. They are mainly used as insulation material for roofs, walls (here also as a plaster base), floors (e.g. for impact sound insulation) and ceilings. By impregnation or coating (eg. For example, with bitumen ), the sensitivity can against moisture are lowered.

Soft fiber boards are processed with hand or table saws or with a foxtail .
