Incense burner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As incense burner one is smoked designated vessel that is not classical smoked coal , but with a candle, usually a tea light works. It consists of a body that contains the candle, on which an incense sieve is attached. The rising heat burns up the smoked herbs and gives off their typical smells.

Some versions have a metal plate on the incense sieve , which makes it possible to smoke incense resins that would otherwise drip through the sieve into the flame. These are the incense burners that gave this type of censer its name.
