biography
Roberts played rugby for a long time at school before he discovered classical music at the age of 14 while attending the opera. His susceptibility to injury did the rest and from then on he opted for school musicals and singing lessons. After studying classical singing at the University of Birmingham, he appeared as an opera singer and received several awards.
Roberts also tried to get a record deal and applied for talent shows. After dropping out early on the TV show Any Dream Will Do , he took part in The X Factor in 2007 . The baritone with the eye-catching peroxide blonde hair was very successful and only lost to Leon Jackson in the final . Then it took Sony under contract, and in late 2008 released his debut album, which bore his name as the title. It was very successful and reached number 3 on the album charts. He sold over half a million copies and was awarded platinum for it.
The following year the Welsh singer's second album followed, entitled O Fortuna , which entered the album charts again.
