The Aufricht winery is a private winery owned by the brothers Robert and Manfred Aufricht in the Baden wine-growing region , based in Stetten on Lake Constance .

The winery is located in the Stetten area on Höhenweg 8 between Meersburg and Hagnau on Lake Constance . The winery is located within its own vineyards, which extend to the shores of Lake Constance . A narrow road for local and agricultural traffic leads from the center of Stetten below the federal road 31, then past the German war cemetery in Meersburg-Lerchenberg to the winery.

Vineyards and grape varieties

The cultivated vineyards are Sängerhalde (Meersburg), Chorherrenhalde (Meersburg), Fohrenberg (Meersburg), Mocken (Meersburg), Kriesemann (Meersburg) and Trielberg (Meersburg) The grape varieties grown are Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Regent, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Blauburgunder (Pinot Noir), Riesling, Sauvignon blanc, Auxerrois and Scheurebe. The traditional varieties of the Lake Constance area since the Middle Ages are Auxerrois, Pinot Noir and Gutedel. These traditional varieties and old varieties such as Frühburgunder are consciously continued to be grown in the winery. Sauvignon blanc was introduced by the Aufricht winery as the first winery in the Lake Constance region.

Harmony with nature

Around 20 nut, apple and pear trees are planted as standard trees in the winery each year. It is fertilized organically. Herbicides are not used.

Creation of the winery

The founder, Josef Aufricht, comes from the Batschka and came to Lake Constance after the Second World War. As a Lake Constance winemaker, he exchanged space with colleagues. In 1986 the Aufricht family left the cooperative in all friendship. Josef Aufricht, who was active in the business well into old age, died in 2015. Today, his sons Robert and Manfred Aufricht run the winery, who are now supported by the next generation by Sophia and Johannes Aufricht.
