Wheat intolerance
A food intolerance of the grain wheat can be caused by the following diseases :
- Celiac disease (inflammatory reaction of the intestinal mucous membrane to the "adhesive protein" gluten)
- Gluten ataxia , a neurodegenerative autoimmune disease characterized by movement disorders
- Dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring , blistering skin disease with itching
- Wheat allergy ( IgE- mediated food allergy to wheat)
- Non-celiac disease-non-wheat allergy-wheat sensitivity ( diagnosis of exclusion )
