Wheat intolerance

A food intolerance of the grain wheat can be caused by the following diseases :

• Celiac disease (inflammatory reaction of the intestinal mucous membrane to the "adhesive protein" gluten)
• Gluten ataxia , a neurodegenerative autoimmune disease characterized by movement disorders
• Dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring , blistering skin disease with itching
• Wheat allergy ( IgE- mediated food allergy to wheat)
• Non-celiac disease-non-wheat allergy-wheat sensitivity ( diagnosis of exclusion )
