The Welch Rocks are two cliffs off the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the eastern part of Holme Bay they are 800 m north of Welch Island .

Aerial photographs of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions from 1958 and 1959 were used to map them. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after the neighboring island. It is named after Bernard Francis Welch (1901–1974), second machinist on the RRS Discovery on the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE, 1929–1931).
