Wellfleet Communications was a major American network supplier .

The company was founded in Bedford ( Massachusetts ) in 1986 by Paul Severino, Bill Seifert, Steven Willis and David Rowe. The company later moved to Billerica and was one of the fastest growing American tech companies in 1992 and 1993. Wellfleet mainly manufactured network equipment such as routers . In 1994 she merged with the Californian network company SynOptics Communications to form Bay Networks .
