Bay was formed in October 1994 through the merger of SynOptics and Wellfleet Communications . The products of both companies complemented each other well, but SynOptics in Silicon Valley and Wellfleet on Massachusetts Route 128 not only separated the entire continent, but also the different histories and cultures of the two technological centers of the USA.
