The world Poliotag (English World Polio Day ) is held annually on October 28 committed.

The World Health Organization (WHO) first launched Action and Remembrance Day in 1988. The background for the day is the WHO's worldwide campaign to eradicate polio Global polio eradication initiative (GPEI).
The date was chosen because the developer of the first polio vaccine , Jonas Salk , was born on that day.
Actions
On World Polio Day 2013, the Robert Koch Institute drew attention to the fact that there were increasing setbacks in the fight against the disease worldwide. Above all, the countries in the Horn of Africa, Israel and Syria are currently in the spotlight because there have recently been increasing cases of illness. The virus is still present in Afghanistan, Nigeria and Pakistan.
