Wendeng ( Chinese  文 登 区 , Pinyin Wéndēng Qū ) has been a district of the prefecture-level city of Weihai in the east Chinese province of Shandong since March 18, 2014 . It has an area of ​​1,645 km² with almost 650,000 inhabitants (end of 2004) and emerged from the independent city of Wendeng.

In Wendeng, as in all of Shandong, Mandarin is spoken. Administratively, Wendeng is divided into three street districts and 12 large municipalities.
