Rongcheng ( Chinese  荣成 市 , Pinyin Róngchéng Shì ) is an independent city in the Chinese province of Shandong . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Weihai . Rongcheng has an area of ​​1,392 km² and a population of 1,001,985. Administratively, Rongcheng consists of 15 large communities.

Rongcheng is located on the eastern end of the Shandong Peninsula on the Yellow Sea . The so-called "Swan Lake", which forms one of the largest reserves for swans in China, is worth seeing . Shandong is known for its great cultural offerings, which attracts many tourists. Rongcheng has around 2.5 million cultural tourists annually, mainly from the People's Republic of China .

The Rongcheng nuclear power plant, which was developed by the Chinese, has been under construction again since 2013; when fully expanded, it is expected to be the largest in the world with 6600 MW.
