The Wentzinger house "Zum Schönen Eck" in Freiburg im Breisgau was built after 1761 by the painter, sculptor and architect Johann Christian Wentzinger as a studio and residential house. It is one of the few artist houses from the late Baroque era that has been preserved in its original state and, along with the Freiburg Minster, is one of the most important architectural monuments in Freiburg im Breisgau. Its facade and the elaborate staircase are particularly striking.

In 1905 it was acquired by the city of Freiburg, which sold it to the Freiburg Foundation Administration in 1992. From 1946 to 1983 the Freiburg University of Music was housed in the building . In 1906 the Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1880, was housed in the house, which previously had its seat in the Haus zum Rosen . Today the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau is located there .

Since 1994, the Wentzingerhaus has housed the Museum of City History after an extensive and monument-compliant renovation by the foundation administration. The municipal facilities housed there are tenants.
