Werchter
Werchter is a municipality with 3157 inhabitants (2007) belonging to the Belgian municipality of Rotselaar , Arrondissement Leuven , Province of Flemish Brabant . It is known, among other things, for the multi-day rock music festival Rock Werchter , which has been held every year on the last weekend in June or on the first weekend in July since 1974 and attracts around 100,000 visitors.

From 1795 to 1977 Werchter was an independent municipality.
