Regulation content

The WVO regulates

  • the professional requirements for the workshop for the disabled and
  • the procedure for recognition as a workshop for the disabled

According to the “Workshop Ordinance”, a WfbM should give at least 120 disabled employees the opportunity to offer work for participation in working life and to take into account the disability-related possibilities of the respective workshop employee. The workshop must take in all affected people in its catchment area so that local funding can take place. The workshop must generally accommodate all people with mental, psychological and physical illnesses. Exceptions are people who require above-average care or who pose a high risk to others or to themselves.
