Workshop control

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term workshop control (ger .: shop floor control ) is very specific industry in the area of production planning and control used. Workshop control is used for dynamic, flexible and resource- saving fine control of production . In detail, this means precise scheduling of production processes, permanent transparency in production and optimal capacity utilization.

Objectives :

  • 100% adherence to deadlines, delivery reliability
  • high capacity utilization (optimized machine running times)
  • fewer unplanned system downtimes
  • consistent machine data management
  • short lead times in production (low stock in circulation )
  • low stocks
  • paperless manufacturing
  • intelligent flow of information
  • assured and documented quality - through tracking and tracing

In order for workshop control systems to meet these goals, they must continuously record and evaluate the following data:

For this, the workshop control system needs a connection to the ERP level ( Enterprise Resource Planning ) and the individual manufacturing process on the respective machine in production. For this integration at the machine level, it is recommended to use an MES ( Manufacturing Execution System ) to centrally record, evaluate and control .
