Werner Albrecht (born March 30, 1953 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a former German football player .

Career

Werner Albrecht was a member of the Bundesliga team Fortuna Düsseldorf in 1976 . In 1978, the player from the Lower Rhine region moved to the amateur league club 1. FC Bocholt in the third-class Oberliga Nordrhein, with which he won the championship in 1979/80 and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1983 he moved from the Oberliga Nordrhein to the second division Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . Werner Albrecht made a total of 59 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga as a defender.

With the amateurs of Fortuna Düsseldorf he became Lower Rhine Champion and German Amateur Champion in 1977 . In the first leg of the final against SV Sandhausen , Albrecht scored the decisive goal for the 1-0 victory. Albrecht also took part in the German amateur championship with 1. FC Bocholt in 1980 and 1983 , but failed with the club in the semifinals.

In addition to soccer, his sporting interests now include cycling and triathlon. In 1992 he reached the finish line at the triathlon in Roth .
