Werner Josef Fischer

Werner Josef Fischer (born August 3, 1946 in Biebergemünd , Gelnhausen district ) is a German business economist, club official and specialist in customer service.

Werner Fischer held leading positions as director and managing director at mail order companies and department stores Neckermann, Karstadt and Hertie for over 30 years. In this capacity he co-founded the German Customer Service Association (KVD). Initially he was the spokesman for the board and later the executive board of the association with over 1600 members, which calls itself the largest service association in Europe. He was editor-in-chief of the association's Service Today magazine and organized the annual Service Congress, the central network event for the technical service industries, for 30 years. Since leaving the management, he has been advising the association as an honorary board member.

Fischer is an expert in service standardization. He was chairman of the service coordination office (KDL) at the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and from 2008 to 2013 he was also a member of the SME Commission (KOMMIT) in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology ( BMWi ) and in DIN.

Fischer is a KVD ring of honor and holder of the DIN badge of honor. In September 2014 he was awarded the Federal Order of Merit on the ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany . The suggestion for this came from the board of DIN, for the special commitment to standardization in the service sector.
