Stamp imprint

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An imprinted stamp or stamps printed or value stamp impression is a printed postage stamps , they are right on postcards printed envelopes and other philatelic documents and are usually motivgleich with stamps . The receipts with value stamp imprint are called postal stationery . They are available in a variety of shapes, squares, octagons, circles, ovals, shields, etc.

history

The first postal stationery was mostly completely designed envelopes that had nothing in common with the postage stamps that are common today on postal stationery. The idea of printing value stamps directly on envelopes (and later also on postcards and postcards) first had to be found. The idea already existed with the forerunner of postal stationery in the British New South Wales ( Australia ) in 1838. This value stamp, made in relief printing, was available on stamp sheets, but also on envelopes on white paper.

Collect

As a rule, collectors do not cut them out, but collect the complete postal stationery. Carl Lindenberg was one of the first German postal stationery collectors who vigorously spoke out against cutting out the value stamps. Cut-out pieces are referred to as postal stationery cut-outs . The attraction for collectors is, among other things, that the postage stamp motifs are not always the same as postage stamps, but are sometimes their own designs.

Postage indicia such as Stampit or the internet stamp do not belong to the stamp imprints .
