Wesley Hardin
Wesley "Wes" Hardin is an American rockabilly musician.
Life
Under the name Wes Hardin, Hardin made his first recordings for Perfect Records in the summer of 1956 , consisting of his versions of the rockabilly songs Honky Tonk Man (Original: Johnny Horton ) and Cry! Cry! Cry! (Original: Johnny Cash ). During this session he was accompanied by Tommy Spurlin's Southern Boys , another Perfect artist.
Hardin's second single was released in late 1957. This time he recorded the two self-written tracks Anyway / A Thing Called Love for a sister label Perfects, AFS Records , together with the Roxsters . The sound of these two songs was much heavier because of the new band. Billboard praised Anyway (" Artist uses a Jerry Lee Lewis approach in belting the rockabilly blues. Solid piano and country string backing enhance the good vocal effort. If exposed, this might do bi. "), But thought the B-side was almost the same good (" Delivery on this side is similar, but better material on flip makes it appear stronger. "), but the record didn't go beyond regional successes, which was mainly due to the bad marketing.
Hardin's area of activity was mainly in West Palm Beach , Florida , where he often played with the Roxsters as he did not have his own band. Two of his songs were re-released in 1979; since then further publications of the other two titles have followed.
