AFS Records was an American music label from Miami .
history
AFS was founded in 1957 as a sub-label of Art Records by Harold Doane and Mitch Lebow. AFS stood for American Federation of Songwriters , an organization with which the label was more or less related, as it was intended for musicians / songwriters who were under contract with AFS to release their records. Among the productions AFS made in 1957 and 1958 were singles by Wesley Hardin and Roger Smith, two local musicians.
In 1958, Doane closed AFS again. All previous records were made by the Art Record Manufacturing Company. In 1979 the label was revived to re-release a total of three LPs with rockabilly recordings from Miami and the surrounding area.
