The museum is located in the Schultenhof.

The West German Winter Sports Museum in the Neuastenberg district of Winterberg deals with the history of winter sports in the Sauerland on an area of ​​around 250 m² .

Among other things, the development of the ski from the first wooden skis to modern plastic variants, the ski equipment and the emergence of winter sports tourism in the Upper Sauerland are documented . Bobsleigh is also highlighted: for example, various historical sledges and bobsleighs are on display. The museum was opened in 1998 in the Schultenhof.
