Westphalian Industry Club
The Westphalian Industry Club was founded in Dortmund in 1918 as an association of representatives of medium-sized industry in the Ruhr area .
The initiator of the association was Wilhelm Pahl , who saw the need for a cross-sector association in order to be able to better protect himself against interference by the state and authorities, especially against the background of the First World War . The association was founded on March 13, 1918 in the Hotel Römischer Kaiser by 44 gentlemen, including:

- Justizrat August Raude, Dortmund Union Brewery
- Wilhelm Pahl, Wilhelm Pahl rubber goods factory
- Ernst Schweckendieck, Councilor of Commerce, Schüchtermann & Kremer union
- Oskar Sempell, Director, German-Luxembourgish Mining and Steelworks AG

On May 1, 1918, the association already had 139 members. In April 1922, the Nordsternhaus GmbH was founded in order to acquire the Nordsternhaus as club space.
After the Second World War, the association was named Westfalenhaus e. V. continued. Rooms were created in the Berghof. In 1950 the name Westfälischer Industrieklub was given back.
Even today, membership is primarily reserved for entrepreneurs.
