The Westfa Group ( spelling : WESTFA ) with the leading Westfa Vertriebs- und Verwaltungs-GmbH is a liquefied gas distribution company based in Hagen .
history
The company was founded in 1946 by Johann Brand and Gustav Engel under the name Westfälische Apparatebau und Vertriebs-GmbH (abbreviated: WESTFA). The business purpose was initially the manufacture of gas-fired heating and lighting equipment. In 1952, WESTFA started trading in liquid gas with the opening of the first liquid gas warehouse and developed into a liquid gas trader.
In 1997 the product range was expanded to include heating technology. From 2013 WESTFA began taking over smaller competitors in order to expand its business area.
Business activity
WESTFA sells liquefied gas both in gas bottles and in larger quantities by tanker. It also rents liquid gas tanks to private and commercial customers for this purpose.
It has 10 branches in Germany, 1 in France and 2 each in the Netherlands and Belgium. In Germany, the WESTFA Group also includes the companies WECO Thermogas GmbH (Sinsheim), WPG Westfälische Propan-GmbH (Detmold), Deininger LPG GmbH (Mannheim), BeBra LPG GmbH (Hohenfels-Liggersdorf) and Süddeutsche LPG GmbH (Wolfratshausen).
