Members

The DVFG has 120 full and extraordinary member companies (as of 2012):

Ordinary members are companies that, as liquid gas supply companies, sustainably operate the energy supply with liquid gas in an area beyond their place of business - equipped with specialist staff, warehouses and supply facilities for a safe, long-term supply that complies with all regulations, as well as a large number of resellers for bottle supply and / or agents.

The extraordinary members are plant manufacturers, automotive groups, LPG suppliers, freight forwarders or testing organizations. The business interests of the associate members are closely linked to those of the liquefied gas supply companies.

Cartel formation

In December 2007 the Federal Cartel Office imposed fines totaling almost EUR 208 million for customer protection agreements and found that the accused companies “agreed as members of the German Association of Liquid Gas eV (DVFG) on the basis of the association's competition rules to refrain from soliciting customers ”. The OLG Düsseldorf rejected the objection to the fine notices from the Federal Cartel Office in its judgment of April 15, 2013 and increased the fine to 244 million euros. The verdict is not yet legally binding.

Self-expression and goals

The interest group wants to participate in various national and international committees in the creation of standards and regulations and to advise the member companies about the most important economic and technical developments. In cooperation with politics, authorities and other institutions, programs and proposals for the rational use of liquefied gas are to be developed and scenarios for market prospects are to be worked out.

The DVFG wants to prevent preferential treatment or discrimination of individual energies, to ensure price and performance competition in the energy market and to safeguard consumers' freedom of choice when choosing their energy.
