Weston Island is a Canadian island in Hudson Bay in the Nunavut Territory . It is located in James Bay , the southern branch of Hudson Bay. The irregularly shaped island measures 5.2 kilometers from north to south. In the south the island is 7.2 kilometers wide, to the north it becomes narrower and is less than a kilometer wide at its thinnest point. In the south the island reaches a maximum height of over 40 meters. The sub-arctic island of Weston Island is roughly on the same latitude as the north point of North Rhine-Westphalia .
