Westrozebeke (in German Westrosenbach ) is a small village in the heart of West Flanders . It belongs to the Belgian municipality of Staden and is about 10 km from Roeselare and 15 km from Ieper . The village is located on a hill from which one has an impressive view, especially to the west.

The village is best known for the Battle of Roosebeke , in which a Flemish army led by Filips van Artevelde ( Jacob van Artevelde's son) on November 27, 1382 against the French army led by Lodwijk II van Male and Charles VI . of France fought and lost. Filips died in battle in battle.
