Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania
Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania (lit.Lietuvos Respublikos konkurencijos taryba ) is a competition authority in Lithuania with its headquarters in Vilnius . As a regulatory agency, its task is to combat the negative effects of concentrations of power in markets.
history
In 1992 the competition authority was established at the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy ( Konkurencijos taryba prie Valstybinės kainų ir konkurencijos tarnybos ). In 1995 it was reorganized as Konkurencijos taryba prie Konkurencijos ir vartotojų teisių gynimo tarnybos . In 1999 Konkurencijos taryba became an independent institution.
