Guttation in the pond horsetail

Weather plants are called plants , the parts of which perform hygroscopic movements or other macroscopic changes when exposed to humidity .

Examples

High air humidity leads to the excretion of guttation drops in the pond horsetail. The umbellate stalks of the wild carrot adapt to the weather when the seeds are ripe and react to damp weather and by curving inwards at night. When the sun is shining, a backward spreading can be observed. Legumes roll up the pods like a screw when they dry out. So the coming weather events can be recognized from it.
