Wetzendorf (noble family)
The von Wetzendorf are a knightly, extinct Thuringian noble family from the place of the same name Wetzendorf an der Unstrut .
history
The nobles of Wetzendorf have been documented since 1061 ( de Widesendorp ). It is believed that they provided the burgraves of Neuchâtel near Freyburg at the time of the Thuringian landgraves. In the year 1349/50 it appeared again in the feudal book of Friedrich des Strengen when a Johannes von Wetzendorf was confirmed as feudal bearer of the margrave.
