Widad Nabi
Widad Nabi ( Arabic وداد نبي, DMG Widād Nabī ; * 1985 in Kobane ) is a Kurdish-Syrian poet and writer who lives in Berlin .
Life
Widad Nabi studied economics at the University of Aleppo and graduated with a bachelor's degree .
She writes her poems in Arabic . Her texts have been translated into French , English and German. Two of her books were published in Arabic: 2013 in Aleppo, a volume whose title translates as Time for Love, Time for War . Another book followed in 2016, the title of which translates as Syria and the futility of death . It was published in Beirut. Her poems were printed in German in the anthologies Weg sein - Hier sein , published by the Secession Verlag für Literatur , and The wings of my heavy heart. Poetry by Arab female poets from the 5th century to the present day , published by Manesse Verlag . In 2017 Widad Nabi performed a reading at the poetry market as part of the Berlin Poetry Festival .
