How about ...? was a children's program on GDR television .

In the program, which was mainly aimed at children and young people from the age of ten, tips and suggestions for handicrafts, experimentation and artistic or creative activities were provided. The individual episodes mostly revolved around an overarching topic, for example there were episodes under the motto “Ship models for beginners and advanced users”, “Tips for fashionable clothing” and “Suggestions and practical tips for aquarists”.

The broadcast of How about ...? initially took place weekly on Friday afternoons, from 1982 the program ran every two weeks on Tuesday afternoons. The last episode was shown on December 4, 1990.

Books

Selected handicraft instructions and suggestions from the show How about ...? were published by Planet-Verlag Berlin in 1986 in a handicraft book of the same name. Another book on the show with the title How about? Handicrafts and handicrafts for the whole family was published in 1989 by Junge Welt.
