Rebirth ( Ukrainian Відродження ) is a moderate liberal-conservative political party in Ukraine . It has 22 MPs in the Verkhovna Rada .
Content
The party advocates broad decentralization, a transparent budget system, reforms in the healthcare system and an increase in social spending.
history
Party "rebirth"
The Rebirth party was founded in 2004 by Heorhij Kirpa , who at the time was Minister of Transport and Communication of Ukraine. The party supported President Viktor Yanukovych in the 2004 presidential election . At the end of the year, Kirpa was found dead, allegedly killed by suicide.
In the 2006 parliamentary election , the party received 0.96% of the vote. In 2007 and 2012 she did not take part, in 2014 she received 0.19%. In 2015, the previously independent Verkhovna Rada faction "Rebirth" joined the party. Since then, the party has 22 MPs in parliament.
"Economic Development" group
On February 27, 2014, a few days after the political upheaval in Ukraine, an “Economic Development” faction split off from the previously ruling faction of the Party of Regions . A few days later she became a member of the new government coalition under Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk .
On March 5, 2015, she decided to rename the parliamentary group “Rebirth”, and on June 5 she joined the “Rebirth” party. Up until then, most of the MPs were members of the Party of Regions.
From 2015
In the regional elections in 2015, the party received 3.8% of the vote and 9 members in regional parliaments. The mayors of the second largest city Kharkiv and Uzhhorod are members of the party.
