Viennese social services
The Vienna Social Services are a non-profit association that carries out social services on behalf of the City of Vienna under the motto “Together for People” .
history
The Vienna Social services were in 1946 as a club "Vienna home care" by officials of the City of Vienna established, licensed nurses and social workers the social security office. In the first few years after the end of the Second World War , the association took on care tasks and organized food, clothing, heating material, detergents and other items of daily use for socially disadvantaged, needy and old people from the population.
In the 1950s, home helpers, at that time still without training, were accepted into the association for the first time. At the end of the 1960s, social services were expanded , primarily with the support of city councilor Alois Stacher . Stacher remained closely connected to the club as club president.
In 1972 it was renamed from "Wiener Hauskrankenpflege" to "Wiener Sozialdienste" . The cleaning service and visiting service were added to the area of responsibility of the association. In the years that followed, the range of services for disabled people, home help and home nursing as well as mobile occupational therapy was gradually expanded.

In November 2002, Wiener Sozialdienste founded three non-profit organizations: Wiener Sozialdienste Alten- und Pflegedienste GmbH , Wiener Sozialdienste Förder & Begleitung GmbH and the socio-economic company Wiener Sozialdienste Team Ideen-SÖB GmbH . The Vienna Social Services Team Idea-SÖB GmbH was discontinued on March 31, 2011.
Services such as B. the barrier-free apartment adaptation and painting and decorating work were taken over in the context of the project team handwerK in the Association of Vienna Social Services.
On July 1st, 2012 SobIT GmbH was founded, which provides all IT services for the Viennese social services and all associated companies.
In 2013, on behalf of the City of Vienna, the Vienna Social Services Promotion & Accompaniment GmbH opened two new centers for development support in the 11th and 20th districts. Another opened in May 2014 in the 22nd district.
The areas of mobile occupational therapy and the institute for couple and family therapy were transferred to Wiener Sozialdienste Förder & Begleitung GmbH as of January 1, 2017 through a partial transfer of operations within the corporate group . On July 1, 2017, the merger with the inclusion of Sozial Global AG and Wiener Sozialdienste Alten- und Pflegedienste GmbH was completed. From this point on, the new joint location is at Ernst-Melchior-Gasse 22, 1020 Vienna.

Mobile child carers support parents and single parents in caring for acutely ill children if they cannot take care of this themselves due to work or training. On request, senior citizens can be informed and advised about the City of Vienna's offers and opportunities for older people in a private conversation as part of the contact visit service at home . The socio-economic project team handwerK enables people who have been unemployed for a long time to re-enter the regular labor market by means of fixed-term service contracts. During their employment, they carry out barrier-free apartment adaptations, repair, wood and painting work.
Overall, the Vienna Social Services Association consists of the following three subsidiaries: Wiener Sozialdienste Alten- und Pflegedienste GmbH , Wiener Sozialdienste Förder & Begleitung GmbH and SobIT GmbH . The Viennese social services and its subsidiaries employ around 1,700 people.
Promotion & accompaniment GmbH
The Viennese Social Services Promotion & Accompaniment GmbH is a specialist in care, integration and support for disabled children, young people and adults. The range of services includes the following focal points: The four centers for development support (ZEF) offer advice and care for children with abnormalities in development and their parents. The mobile early intervention and family support is aimed at children with developmental retardation and handicapped children in the home environment. The basal remedial classes are since it was founded in the academic year 1992/93 as a school for multiple handicapped, care-dependent children and adolescents who for a holistic and needs-based approach within the formal education system are encouraged. In fully assisted or partially assisted living , people with different disabilities and / or mental illnesses are cared for and their self-determination is strengthened. The daily structure craft for adults with disabilities and / or mental illnesses creates room for development and structure in everyday life with creative craft activities. The child therapy is available for the comprehensive and inclusive care for children in need therapy on Campus seaside town. It includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The basic support classes are a type of school for children and young people with multiple disabilities who are dependent on care in the mainstream school system. In order to enable individual learning, four to five students are taught according to a holistic, needs-oriented concept. The Mobile occupational therapy mainly offers therapy at home, advice on home adaptations and aids counseling. The Institute for Couple and Family Therapy offers a wide range of options for families, single parents, couples and individuals.
Alten- und Pflegedienste GmbH
The Vienna Social services nursing services GmbH with 1,200 employees in the field of private welfare organizations in Vienna largest provider in their division and serves about 4,300 clients. Services are offered in three broad areas. The assisted senior living communities for older people who no longer want to live alone for health or social reasons consist of 33 residential communities in which the residents mainly support each other in addition to support through mobile services and thus receive autonomy .
