Wilberforce University
Wilberforce University is a private cultural studies university in Wilberforce, Ohio , affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Church .
Founded in 1856, it is one of the oldest historic African American colleges in the United States . It is named after William Wilberforce , an 18th century English politician who spoke out against the slave trade .
