The headquarters of the family were named Wildenfels with Wildenfels Castle and the Wildenfels rulership . The von Solms-Wildenfels family followed the empire-free family .

Another noble family of the same name can be found in Wildenfels in Middle Franconia .

The coat of arms is square with a black rose on a gold background and a silver lion on a black background alternating. The first crest is a hat with a rose at the end in gold and black and helmet covers of the same color . The second crest is crowned and shows a silver lion with helmet covers in silver and black. The heraldist Johann Siebmacher leads the family as lord .
