White water swimming world championship is a competition under the name Whitewater Trophy (WWT) held in Lienz ( East Tyrol ).

The international competition takes place in the largely natural white water of the Isel glacier river . Since the first event in 2009, an approx. 3.5 km long swimming section on the white water difficulty scale 2–4 downstream has to be mastered. The athletes start in teams of two at minute intervals. The competitors must mark the achievement of each route point on a map in the shortest possible time at the checkpoints distributed over the route and equipped with pliers.
